Winter definitely hasn’t yet come to South Lake Tahoe, but with three storms in the forecast for this week we are hopeful, and thought this would be a great time to remind you of our winter protocols.

There are many wonderful and amazing aspects of working with children, but sharing their germs is not one of them. December saw most of the members and staff enjoying a seasonal cough and cold. We also heard that the stomach flu was making its rounds and now 2018 is bringing the real flu to the south shore. So much so that South Lake has run out of Tamiflu, the antibiotics most commonly used to treat cases of the flu.
It is now over a year since Measure P passed and we wanted to give you an update as to where the Club is with our hopes and dreams of a new Clubhouse all of our own. Since Measure P passed the City and the Parks and Recreation Commission have been busy working on designs for the new Rec. Center. At the same time the Club has continued to grow and last winter it became apparent to the Club that we need a space that is 100% our own. Not only do we need a lot of space to accommodate all our members, but also for issues of security and privacy, we want space that isn’t shared.
We are now well into the swing of the new school year and only five weeks away from our first major vacation – Thanksgiving Break. As many of our families will be aware, we have made some changes as to how vacations will work this year, and I want to use this opportunity to explain why we have made the changes and what action our families need to take.
