A Howling Good Time

When we woke to snow on Monday morning, the howling wind of Sunday seemed nothing in comparison.  And while some golfers may have cursed the sudden gusts as their shots went wide, the generous pours of Bloody Mary’s and Sidelis beer made sure everyone still had a fabulous time at the 28th Golf Classic at Edgewood Tahoe. 144 players took to the course, with Rampant MacDuffs having a record breaking 5 foursomes as part of their 40th birthday celebrations for Scotty.  Other foursomes included the Optimists, South Tahoe Refuse and US Bank.

Tahoe Brewfest: Just What We Needed.

The past 18 months have been some of the most challenging that our community has faced in the past decade.  The pandemic lockdown caused financial uncertainty and the added stress of homeschooling, which was then followed by floods of visitors, staff shortages and then a wildfire that threatened our homes and changed our landscape.

School has finally started; now how do we stay in school?

During the stress and anxiety of the Caldor Fire it was easy to forget that other little issue we've now been living with for 18 months - the COVID 19 pandemic.  In the week before Tahoe evacuated over 150 positive cases were recorded at schools in Carson and the fire merely delayed an inevitable increase in cases amongst our children once they were back in their classrooms. So what can we do to prevent an outbreak of a magnitude that will shut our schools again?
