This school year was one for the record books. From fires, to vaccines, massive snow loads to moving into our new building. We want to take a minute and reflect on this past year. Firstly, we would like to thank the staff members who make Club possible each and every day. They are the true heroes who have stuck by to bring fun, fitness, education and self-awareness to all of our Club kids. Our staff members deserve a round of applause for all of their efforts. This year all of our staff became certified in Trauma Informed Care, including a focus on self-care so they can be the best versions of themselves. Kudos to all the staff for showing just how AWESOME you truly are!

2022 marked the end of an era, and staff are proud of the new building and take pride in ensuring that the members get the absolute best experience possible while they are here. We continue to do programming in our 5 key areas that shape the whole child. STEM, arts, sports & recreation, leadership and service & health and wellness. We welcomed David Wise to the team as our STEM Director and the members love his STEM programs; from 3D printing to leather stamping and plants, the STEM room has something for everyone. The new building also affords Miss Gina the perfect space for her art programs and once again the Club reached the Boys and Girls Club of America National Art Competition Final. In partnership with 4H we also ran a ‘snack club’ program where the members were taught the value of and how to prepare healthy snacks and drinks. And to counter that virtuous eating, we also reinstated the Friday Fun Day snack bar as part of our Teen Enterprise program.

Looking forward to this summer, we are excited to bring back our field trips and summer camps. We will be making trips to Coconut Bowl and Urban air and enjoying the beauty that surrounds us. We are hosting several amazing camps as well, including a circus camp, a film camp and Art and STEM camps. Each week has its own theme and all activities will encompass that focus area. We will be hosting weekly water days and movie Fridays, and of course the highlight is our annual summer party. As always, our main focus remains on social and emotional learning, and we are excited to help our members continue their journey to full potential with lots of fun and learning.

On behalf of the club, we would all like to share our gratitude for this amazing community that we call home, and for the wonderful members and families who have been with us through the school year. You are AWESOME!
