Summer arrived just in time for our 3rd Annual Tahoe Brewfest on Saturday 1st June, and attracted over 4000 participants to the Heavenly Cal Lodge Parking Lot. In addition to samples from 38 breweries, attendees enjoyed great food from local food trucks, merchandise stalls, a photo booth, face painting, a silent disco, and live music by Ike and Martin and Dirty Cello. The majority of the attendees were tourists, speaking to the Brewfest’s ability to attract tourism dollars for the community on what has traditionally been a quiet weekend and taking some of the pressure off our locals – who already donate to so many of our charities. But local support is still key to the event’s success.
From the major sponsor and Brewfest catalyst, Deb Brown at Cold Water Brewery, to Vail Resorts Epic Promise who provided the location, first aid and security, all the local breweries who gave their time and product for free, and all our lodging and event sponsors. And all the hard work is paying off. According to FNCTN, who handle the marketing for the event, the Tahoe Brewfest has a larger social reach than Sample the Sierra, Passport to Dining, Autumn Food/Wine Festival, Reno BrewFest and all of the Heavenly Village events COMBINED. Bringing wide recognition for not just the Brewfest, but all the breweries, vendors and sponsors.
