How refreshing to see blue skies and sunshine this week and the warm weather couldn’t have returned at a better time.  This weekend is a celebration of all things magical about Tahoe and in particular the amazing events put on by our non profit community.

Saturday morning kicks off with the children’s fishing derby at Sawmill Pond, which finishes just in time for you to head over to Heavenly Cal Lodge and the Tahoe Brewfest.  40 breweries, cider, kombucha, root beer, craft sodas and wine is just the start of this amazing event.  Live music will be provided by local favorites Ike and Martin and we’ll be introducing the amazing Dirty Cello to Tahoe.  Acoustic music will be found in the tent and your unlimited tastings can be accompanied by food from one of 15 different vendors.  For a break in the tastings you can peruse a variety of stalls, all based locally in Tahoe; and with Father’s Day coming up you’ll be sure to find the perfect gift.  Children and non-drinkers are catered for with the silent disco, giant games, our root beer floats and craft sodas.

After the Brewfest finishes at 4pm, take a short break and get a bite to eat along Ski Run Blvd and then head down to the Lake and the Tahoe Rim Trail Association’s ‘Boot Scootin Bash at the Beach’.  Live music, a contra dance and delicious food will keep you going for the rest of the night.  Other after-fest parties can be found at South Lake Brewing, the Loft and many of our local breweries.

If feeling good on Sunday morning, then work off those beer calories with a ride around the Lake in America’s Most Beautiful Ride, or take a jog/stagger up Meyer’s Grade in the OMG Funrun.  Then head back into town and to Ski Run for a Hair of the Dog at the Artfest.  Twelve venues along Ski Run will be hosting a battle of the bands, mimosas and a variety of art forms.  Kids can get involved in the Chalk Art in the Marina and don’t forget to check out the gear sale at Outdoor Gear Lab, with all proceeds going to the Lily Lake Trail restoration.
