One of the things we love to do with the kids each Thanksgiving is to get them to write down all the things they are grateful for. Yesterday our K-2 grades made hats listing everything they are grateful for. It ranged from Mom and Dad, Grandpa and Grandma, their pets, their favorite toys and, very sweetly, the Club and Club staff were often included. It got us to thinking about what the Club is grateful for and the list is very long. But writing it down was such a wonderful reminder of all the individuals, businesses and organizations that have helped us this year, and helped us to reflect upon the many challenges and obstacles we have overcome in 2020 and how supported we have been.
The temperatures and snow are falling but the cases of COVID-19 are rapidly rising in our community. Many felt this was to be expected as the colder weather encouraged people to socialize inside but if our schools, businesses, recreational spaces and non-profits are to remain open then we need to quickly reduce the spread of COVID-19 within our City and region.
