‘Tis the season for coughs, colds, the flu and even head lice!

There are many wonderful and amazing aspects of working with children, but sharing their germs is not one of them. December saw most of the members and staff enjoying a seasonal cough and cold. Join Club $25.26

In this season of giving, please consider at donation to the Boys and Girls Club. The Club has grown incredibly over the past four years, but for every additional member, we need to raise an extra $8/day in unrestricted funding. To ensure that we can continue to keep membership fees to a minimum, we currently have to raise $1000 every day that the Club is open.

Building Update

It is now over a year since Measure P passed and we wanted to give you an update as to where the Club is with our hopes and dreams of a new Clubhouse all of our own. Since Measure P passed the City and the Parks and Recreation Commission have been busy working on designs for the new Rec. Center. At the same time the Club has continued to grow and last winter it became apparent to the Club that we need a space that is 100% our own. Not only do we need a lot of space to accommodate all our members, but also for issues of security and privacy, we want space that isn’t shared.

The start of the school year is often a fraught time for parents. Do they have all the supplies they need, does their first day outfit conform to what is cool right now, is their best friend in their class and will their teacher realize their potential? But over the past few years, a new concern for parents has come onto the scene; will my child be a victim of cyber bullying?
