Warm days and blue skies say one thing at the Boys and Girls Club of Lake Tahoe and that’s “Hooray for Summer!!”
Summertime is an amazing time at the Club because we get to enjoy our high-altitude summer to the fullest. Alongside abundant day camps and field trips we also get to host the annual Tahoe Brewfest, which is our largest fundraiser of the year.
This year the 5th Annual Tahoe Brewfest will be held on Saturday, August 27th from noon to 5pm on Ski Run BLVD. With an expected 20 plus breweries in attendance, beer tasting is going to be at an all-time high! A huge thank you to Deb Brown and Cold Water Brewery for gifting us this event, as well as being the annual VIP hosts of this fest! This year’s VIP guests will experience early event entry from noon to 1pm when they will be welcomed into CWB’s exclusive VIP tent complete with limited access beer tastings and delicious CWB tastings from their scratch kitchen. At 1pm gates will open to general admission ticket holders so the estimated 3,000 attendees can kick-off their flip-flops and start dancing to the funky grooves of our headlining band The Exchange. In addition to awesome breweries and a groovin’ band, everyone will love the overflowing food truck village and local vendors that will be placed within our brewery rows. Also on our list of fun summer events will be the much-anticipated BGCLT Open House, our first in the new Angel of Tahoe building. To be held on Wednesday, August 24th from 3:30-5:30pm where we invite all our parents, active and incoming, to join us at Main Site to tour and honor our Youths of the Months and staff. We will have our amazing new STEM and Art rooms open, as well as our infamous snack bar!
Lastly, I want everyone to Save the Date for our upcoming 29th Annual Golf Classic to be held on Sunday, October 16th at the prestigious Edgewood Golf Course. Registration will open on September 6th to groups of 4, as well as individual players. Hole and event sponsorships will be available and we will, as always, host a next-level Silent Auction.
