The Inaugural Tahoe Brewfest.
Come down to the Swiss Chalet parking lot on Saturday June 10th for a fun filled, family friendly, afternoon of craft beers, great food and the Tahoe summer vibe.
The Tahoe Brewfest is the brainchild of Debbie Brown of Cold Water Brewery. For a number of years Debbie has dreamed of organizing a Brewfest on the South Shore to celebrate the budding Tahoe craft beer industry; and this Saturday that dream will become a reality.
Over fifteen breweries will be showcased, including local favorites Sidellis, Cold Water, Lake Tahoe Aleworx and South Lake Brewing. There will also be regional representation from Lagunitas, Ninkasi and Auburn Alehouse, amongst others. Local home brewers will also have a chance to flex their muscle in the Home Brew Competition, with beer connoisseurs will have a chance to choose their favorite in the Popular Choice round of the competition.
Beer not your thing? Not a problem. There will be local arts and craft vendors, live bands, food trucks and lawn games.
The Brewfest is live from 12 noon until 5pm. The entry is free and tickets to sample beers (4oz) can be purchased at the event. Tickets are $20 for five tastings and include a commemorative pint glass. Additional tastings, souvenir glasses, t-shirts and memorabilia can also be purchased on the day. All the local stores will be open with many offering specials for the day.
A bike valet will be provided and the Brewfest organisers would like to encourage everyone to walk or bike to the event. All profits from the Brewfest will go to the Boys and Girls Club of Lake Tahoe.
