The 4th April 2022 will go down as a magical day in the Club’s history. Finally, after 30 years of dreaming and 3 years of intense planning, construction and fundraising, we are in a building of our own.
The Angel of Tahoe building is everything and more that the Club and members could hope for. Safe, clean, modern and functional, in just one week the building has transformed Club operations, with many more benefits to come.
However, the need for fundraising continues. Thanks to the generosity of Haen Constructors and others, we were able to keep pushing forward and complete the building, but we have not yet paid all our bills.
In addition to the remaining construction costs, we also have furniture to pay for, additional items that we need to purchase, and the exterior landscaping to complete. When the construction team went to move our old bike shed it fell apart (completely rotten!) and so we want to purchase a tuff shed to store all our bikes and sports equipment.
In May, the Tahoe Chamber Leadership Lake Tahoe Class will be holding a month-long fundraiser on our behalf, including a fun family night at the Flatstick Pub on May 12th. The group’s hard work has already been rewarded with match funding of $50,000 from the Desolation Hotel. Look out for more information around the launch on May 4th!
Initiatives such as these make a huge difference in enabling the Club to pay off our construction costs, and we are so grateful to everyone in our community who has contributed to Building Bright Futures. If you would like to donate, please visit bgclt.org/buildingbrightfutures or if you have a tuff shed you can donate, give us a call on 530 542 0838. Thank you!
