Sierra House is coming to town!

Or, more precisely, to the Club. In mid November, Sierra House School had an electrical fire in one of the reading classrooms that caused significant damage, and as a result, the entire school is vacating to enable extensive remediation work to be completed. The Club is delighted that we have the ability to open our rooms and make ourselves available to the school. Starting on Monday 17th December the whole of Sierra House will be at our site. To fit everyone in the school will be doing a split schedule. K-2nd in the morning and 3rd-5th in the afternoon.

Tahoe Brewfest Receives 2nd Place at Blue Ribbon Awards

The Tahoe Brewfest received the Tahoe Chamber's Honorable Mention in the 'Tourism' category at the annual Blue Ribbon Awards on Thursday 8th November. The Club was very proud to come second place, beating some of the South Shore's top businesses and events, and showing just how far the Brewfest has come in only two years. Nicole Marsel, our Events and Fundraising Director, did an incredible job growing and improving the event this year and we are already planning for the 1st June 2019 - save the date!

Why is the Club on a Wait List?

Five years ago the Club had an average daily attendance of around 50 at our main site and approximately 30 at Bijou. Fast forward to today and we have an average daily attendance of over 300 a day across both sites. An improved Club experience, better programs, great staff and the low cost of membership have made the Club very popular. Tahoe is also a working community, and the majority of our families need after-school care due to their work schedule.

Plan Ahead for Germ Season

Let's plan ahead for germ season. Back to school is so exciting; new teachers, new friends, maybe a new school. But there is a downside to everyone reconvening together - and that is germs. The kids took a whole school year to build up their immunity and then over the summer met new people and went to new places with different germs. And now, before too soon, the familiar back to school coughs and colds will start.
