Not just staff, but the right staff. At the time of writing this blog the Club needs 12 staff to absorb our waitlist of children and families needing after school care. For those families on the waitlist this is a stressful time. Work schedules have been disrupted, some are unable to work and as the Club is the major after school provider in our community, few have other options to fall back on.
Since its start in 2017, Tahoe Brewfest has been all about community. Deb Brown of Cold Water Brewery and Grill had a vision for our Brewfest that would set it apart from others: it would celebrate community in addition to great beer. That was one of the principal reasons that Deb chose to make the local Boys and Girls Club the non-profit beneficiary of the event, and why the Brewfest partners with local businesses and hotels. Tahoe Brewfest is a celebration of everything that makes this community special and we love to share that with locals and visitors alike.
This school year will bring us a lot of change. A number of significant changes to the structure and operation of the Lake Tahoe Unified School District will go into effect at the start of this school year. The Club has been busy working on our response to those changes.
