One of the things we love to do with the kids each Thanksgiving is to get them to write down all the things they are grateful for.

Yesterday our K-2 grades made hats listing everything they are grateful for.  It ranged from Mom and Dad, Grandpa and Grandma, their pets, their favorite toys and, very sweetly, the Club and Club staff were often included.  It got us to thinking about what the Club is grateful for and the list is very long.  But writing it down was such a wonderful reminder of all the individuals, businesses and organizations that have helped us this year, and helped us to reflect upon the many challenges and obstacles we have overcome in 2020 and how supported we have been.

This list is not exhaustive and no doubt we will miss someone – but know that we are thankful and grateful for each and everyone one of you.

Lisa Maloff, the Angel of Tahoe – for enabling us to start building our own home this year!

Ricky Reich – for all the care and support he provides to Lisa and our community.

Steve Morales – for managing our building so brilliantly and for FREE!

Haen Constructors and all the Sub-Contractors – for doing such an amazing job on the building, providing us with HUGE discounts and donating to the Club.

All the individuals and businesses that have donated to the Building Bright Futures Campaign.

Iain Sievright and MacDuff’s Pub – for providing the community with FREE meals, supporting the Club and donating to our events and causes.

Steve and Cindi at Harumi Sushi – for providing multiple meals and toys to our kids.
LTUSD food service, especially Tammy, Tracina and Melissa, for giving us lunches to hand to the public in the spring and to serve to our members in the fall.

The INCREDIBLE volunteers at Bread and Broth who have kept our kids fed over the weekend with the super Bread and Broth 4 Kids program.

LTUSD – the Board, the schools and the staff – for letting us reopen in June and providing unwavering support as we navigated this year.
The City of South Lake Tahoe, especially Lauren and Kelly at the Rec. Center, for opening up the Center to us and helping us to serve more kids this fall, and Hillary Roverud for securing us 16 free sewer hook-ups and seeking Cares Act funding to support local childcare.

Aleworx and Sidelis for providing food and beer for our fundraising events.

Everyone who participated in our fundraising events or purchased items in our silent auction.

The Gomez Family, the Ledbetter Family, STMS PTA, H&H Bagels, Valerie and Jerry Rudd and many many incredibly generous individuals who donated money and time to supporting the Club.

The El Dorado Community Foundation, the Tahoe Women’s Fund,  the Coca-Cola Foundation, US Bank, Larry Hillblom Foundation, NV Energy Foundation, California Health Foundation, Sacramento Community Foundation, Vail Epic Promise, DW Legacy Foundation, Barton Foundation, Panda Cares, El Dorado County Education Department and others who have financially supported the club and our programs.

Tahoe Youth and Family, the South Tahoe Relators Association and South Lake Tahoe Rotary for ensuring that all our members (and others!) get Christmas presents this year.

The Tahoe Chamber, Barton Hospital and El Dorado County for keeping us up to date with information regarding COVID-19.

Our Board – not only do they give their time, energy and money to the Club, but they are now donating to and supporting the fundraising for the building.  A huge task and one they are working so hard on.

Our admin team – Ashley, Nico, Ali, Nicole and Christina have worked their socks off this year and are constantly solving new challenges with innovative ideas and a smile on their faces.  The Club wouldn’t exist without YOU!

All our staff – who have put their own personal safety and comfort on the line this year to keep serving our kids and helping our families.  Your sacrifice has helped over 200 families this year with childcare and reduced the negative effects of the pandemic upon our members.

Our parents who have rolled with the changes to policies, numbers we can accommodate, and summer, phase 1, phase 2 and now back to phase 1 with grace and understanding and who have been incredible in your support of the Club and staff.

And finally, but always the first in our hearts, our kids.  You have worn your masks without complaint, you have accepted the changes to Club life, you have risen to the challenge of online school and you have still embraced Club, the staff, and every opportunity to have fun.  You are the reason we do what we do and thank you for making it worthwhile.
