In January Terri Arnold stepped down as the Club President, a position that she has held for the past 6 years, and during which the Club has gone from strength to strength under her leadership.
Terri has sat on the Board of the Boys and Girls Club for over 15 years, and spent much of that time as a member of the Executive Committee. Terri was encouraged to join the Board by her boss and former Club President Brian Hogan. Brian appreciated the importance of involving his US Bank staff in the community and Terri’s local knowledge, combined with being a mother herself, was the perfect fit for the Club.
Terri’s twins, Piper and Parker, were regular members during elementary school and Terri often cites how important the Club was to her as a working Mother – enabling her to work full time and providing fun and activities for two very active kids.
Terri became the Club President shortly after the appointment of Jude Wood as the Executive Director, and was at the helm when notice came from LTUSD that they needed to reclaim the Al Tahoe School for their own use. Terri was instrumental in opening up discussions with the City about shared space in the new Rec. Center and later in discussions with Lisa Maloff and her Business Manager Ricky Reich about a building of our own.
Despite being incredibly busy with work and family, Terri has always been there to support the Club staff and to step in to help whenever Jude was unavailable.
Terri’s golfing skills are seen each year at our Golf Classic and thanks to Terri, US Bank is a donor to the Club, our building campaign and a number of our events. Terri even got revenge on her boss Brian, when she was successfully able to ask him to become a major donor to our building campaign.
The Club is so grateful to Terri for all her years of service and feel privileged that she will still remain a part of our Board.
However, it won’t be all rest and relaxation for Terri now she isn’t Club President. Terri’s daughter Piper is having incredible success as part of the USSA Futures Tour. Piper is still one of the youngest on the Tour but made the podium in the first event of this season and all being well, Terri will be spending a good chunk of her time traveling to major competitions with Piper. Maybe even one day the Olympics!
Thank you Terri for everything – you are AWESOME!
