Next Friday, August 4th, the whole of the Club will be spending the day at Valhalla for the 2nd annual ‘Will’s Kids’ event.

In partnership with Live Violence Free, Tahoe Youth and Family and D. G. Menchetti’s Young Shakespeare Program, the Boys and Girls Club is hosting a whole day of arts, crafts and culture at the Valhalla Estate on Emerald Bay Road.

It will include a FREE children’s production of the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival’s ‘Love’s Labours Lost’.  As well as lots of other fun activities such as face painting, hula hooping and the SLT library.

Our members will be leaving from the Club at 10am and returning at 4pm.  As the whole Club is going, we will shut the building while gone, and therefore please drop off your child before 10am and expect to pick them up after 4pm that day.  The Club is being transported to Valhalla in buses hired from LTUSD for the day.  A picnic lunch will be provided and the teen snack bar will be in attendance; as it’s not a theater performance without some candy to enjoy!

The play will start at 12 noon and is open to everyone – locals/tourists/young/old.  Therefore, if your child does not normally come to the Club on a Friday, you are welcome to bring them to the event yourself.  You are also welcome to bring any siblings who are not Club members.  However, we cannot transport parents on the buses as we need the seats for staff and members.  The play lasts an hour and is recommended for app. 4 years and up.

We would like to thank the Tahoe Douglas Rotary for their generous donation to Will’s Kids, enabling us to hire the buses and rent Valhalla for the day.  Without their kindness we would not have been able to provide our members with such a wonderful opportunity.
