Summer Camps at Boys and Girls Club Lake Tahoe – 2018
In addition to our daily summer program, BGCLT offers a range of additional summer camps. Lasting five days each camp has a different theme and are open to members and non-members of the Club. Participants will receive intensive instruction in each activity, ensuring that they achieve the maximum outcomes while having great fun. For adventure activities and off-site camps the staff to participant ratio will be 12:1 or even fewer. Breakfast, lunch and all equipment is included in the price.
Adventure Camp
Dates: June 25th-June 29th
Grades: 3rd-5th grade
Activity: 5 action packed days that are sure to appeal to the mini outdoor enthusiasts. This camp combines paddle boarding, kayaking, biking and hiking right here in the beautiful Lake Tahoe Basin. We will be traveling to some of South Shore’s most iconic adventure locations. This is a camp you DON’T want to miss out on. All equipment and lunch provided daily.
Price: Camp will be $200 for member or $250 non member
Spanish Camp
Dates: July 9th – 13th
Grades: 2nd – 5th grade
Activity: Interested in having your child learn Spanish? This intensive camp will include formal direction on Beginning Spanish only. Members will be introduced to customs, food and games all while learning to speak the Spanish language. This camp will focus on numbers, alphabet, things around the house and common phrases needed in order to communicate. Vamos a aprender Espanol juntos! Lunch provided daily.
Price: $150 member or $200 non member
Art Camp 1
Dates: July 23rd – 27th
Grades: K – 3rd grade
Activity: Using a variety of art mediums, participants will work with our Art Specialist, Gina Stowell, to create their own masterpieces and learn about the history and world of art. Field trips will be taken each afternoon. Breakfast and lunch included in cost.
Price: $200 member or $250 non member
Art Camp 2
Dates: August 6th – 10th
Grades: Grades 3rd and Up

Backpacking Camp in association with the Tahoe Rim Trail Association
Dates: August 13th – 17th
Grades: Grade 6th and Up
Activity: Four-day backpacking trip in the Tahoe Basin. In addition to camping and backpacking skills, participants will also learn about the Sierra Nevada Mountains, Leave No Trace Principles and Map and compass techniques. All camping and backpacking equipment will be provided. Members must have their own hiking boots or hiking shoes that are already BROKEN IN, clothing and toiletries. A packing list will be provided upon request.

Bug Camp
Dates: August 13th – 17th
Grades: 1st – 2nd grade
Activity: Participants will have the opportunity to learn about the plants, animals and bugs around the Tahoe Basin. Members will travel to a different place each day in hopes of finding some of the most fascinating creepy crawlers in Tahoe. Lunch will be provided.
