The Club has been partnering with SOS Outreach for the last three years to offer skiing and snowboarding during the Spring Break. But thanks to a competition that SOS won last year, this year our members will get to participate for just $5.
On Tuesday 11th and Thursday 13th April, members of the Club will be invited to participate in a learn to ski or snowboard day at Kirkwood. Transportation to the mountain, a day pass, all equipment, and professional instruction are all included in the cost. The normal value for the day would be in excess of $300!
Participants must be over 7 years and ideally will never have tried skiing or snowboarding, or have limited experience. In addition to Kirkwood Instructors, two staff from the Boys and Girls Club will be accompanying the group each day. Spaces are limited to 12 each day. This is a fantastic opportunity for our members and we are so grateful to SOS Outreach for sharing their good fortune with our children. To sign your child up please call 530 542 0838 or ask at the Main Site Front Desk.
And a quick update on our truck. Thanks to an incredible and very generous donation, plus some money previously donated, and the insurance payout we are hoping to be able to purchase at least 2 new (to us) vehicles in time to take the kids to Kirkwood. We are working with Mark Shehadi and Cardinale to locate the right vehicles and hope that one of them will be a 15 passenger van! Safety is our priority so we’ll take whatever time is needed to ensure the best vehicles at the best price for the Club. If you have any leads then please contact Jude at 530 542 0838 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
