Why is Club Closed on Snow Days?

This winter is trying to break all the records. One of the most frustrating ones is the number of snow days from school. Not only are snow days a loss of learning time, but they are also a significant financial burden for working parents.  So why doesn’t the Club open on snow days so parents can still go to work?

Changes to the Winter Break Schedule

One of the complaints that we used to get when we were renting the Al Tahoe school was that we never closed.  An odd complaint we used to think, as the ethos of 'school is out, Club is open' is what we are all about.  However, now we are in our own building, and working hard to maintain a clean, safe and well maintained environment, we understand the complaint.

Important Dates for Your November Calendar

Can you believe that we only have 7 weekends until Santa arrives? And for all of us the remainder of 2021 is starting to look really busy! However, we have a few more important dates for your calendar. The first one and a VERY important one is that the Club will be CLOSED on November 11th and 12th. The 11th is Veteran's Day and a National Holiday. The 12th is a staff training day for LTUSD (postponed from during the heavy smoke conditions in August). As you know, when the schools are closed during vacations, we open for full days to support our members and working families. However, to do that, we need staff and unfortunately, as a number of our staff work for the School District, they are unavailable on the 12th.

It’s Officially Spring!

Not that it feels like it with the nasty weather we are having, but we are only two weeks out from Spring Break. Signs up are at both main site and Bijou and after-school members are required to pay $5 for each day of the vacation they are attending. The $5 includes a hot lunch.
